In Loving Memory of Zelda S. Litt
Zelda S. Litt passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 20, 2024. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the eldest of four children of Abe and Minnie Levine. Zelda was the devoted wife of Mitchell Litt for over 50 years until his passing in 2014.
A graduate of Brooklyn College with a degree in Home Economics, Zelda transitioned to being a dedicated stay-at-home mom upon the arrival of her first child. She was celebrated for her exceptional cooking and baking, her green thumb, and, most of all, her ability to nurture meaningful friendships with everyone she met. Even when faced with blindness last year, Zelda remained remarkably independent and continued to embrace life with grace and joy.
Last weekend, she celebrated her 90th birthday surrounded by her beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren—a testament to her remarkable legacy of love and family.
Zelda is survived by her children Ellen (Robert) Simons and Steve (Lisa) Litt; her grandchildren Louis Simons, Jocelyn Simons, Abigail (Boris) Dubinchik, Jen Litt, and Melissa Litt; and her great-grandchildren, Mira and Ezra Dubinchik. She is also survived by her siblings Annleah Berger, Hester Skolnik, and Nat (Marilynn) Levine.
