Obituary

Yale Robert Bobrin, 91, of Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, died on October 28, 2026. He was born in Philadelphia, and his life was marked by devotion to his family, his patients, his community, and the things he loved.

Yale graduated from Temple University and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. From 1974 to 2006, he served the Philadelphia area and surrounding communities as a psychiatrist at Friends Hospital, where for thirty-two years he helped hundreds of patients. He was a member of KI Synagogue.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marilyn; his sister, Brenda; and his six children and spouses: Elyse and Cliff, Cindy & Joe of blessed memory, Rona and Michael, Lori and John, Ed and Elisa, and Josh and Jackie. He was the proud grandfather of Lindsey, Nick, Drew, Lucas, Schyler, Adam, Matt, Emily, Bobby, Bryan, Eli, Noah, Jarrett, Bennett, Jordan, Alex, Ethan, Gabe, Sophie, and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Irwin, and was the son of George and Estelle Bobrin.

Yale was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, and his beloved 76ers were a constant in his life. Tennis became a passion that stayed with him well into his eighties. He loved music and theatre, and he was always singing along to Al Jolson, Harry Belafonte, and Bobby Darin.
