Walter Sherin, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed away unexpectedly on November 12, 2025 at the age of 89, predeceased by his parents Paul and Eva Sherin. Born in Philadelphia on October 29, 1936, Walter’s life was marked by his work in the fine jewelry industry and later as a respected, local business owner alongside his wife Linda at Sports ‘n Stuff in Glenside, PA where he built a business selling used sporting goods with a loyal customer base.

Walter had a passion for telling jokes and making people laugh. He was known to many as “Big Foot”. He was a lifelong member of the Masons. His hobby was attending weekly garage sales with his dear friend Bernie. He enjoyed local politics, Philadelphia sports and coming up with the next big idea. His positive outlook on life and unwavering support for his family was felt profoundly by those who knew him.

Walter took great pride in his family with his grandchildren being his greatest joy. He is survived by his devoted wife Linda with whom he shared 58 wonderful years; his two sons, Scott (Sharon Gray) and Todd (Dana Bank); seven grandchildren, Jessica, Rachel, Sophia, Caden, Will, Sylvie, Eliza; a brother, Mel and a wealth of nieces and nephews.

May the memory of Walter’s laughter and love resonate through his family and the many friends and acquaintances he touched throughout his life.

The family will sit Shiva on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 4pm at the Beaver Hill Apartments North Social Hall and on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 2pm at the residence of Linda Sherin.
