Theodore “Ted” Maxwell Naids, 89, passed away at his residence on August 27, 2026. Born on October 30, 1936, in Philadelphia, to Thelma Naids, Ted grew up in the Strawberry Mansion section of Philadelphia. He ultimately settled in Northeast Philadelphia to raise his family and then resided in Ambler, PA for the past 20 years.

Ted was the beloved husband of the late Arlene Naids, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Together, they built a family that was the center of Ted’s life. They raised four children, and Ted took great pride in seeing the family grow with seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Ted’s life was a testament to determination, talent, and hard work. He served in the United States Army and eventually found his calling as a hairstylist, working at and owning numerous salons throughout his career.

Ted loved golf, photography, art, gardening, and antiques. He was also gifted with his hands. Whether building something from scratch, repairing something that was broken, or helping family and friends with projects around their homes, Ted was always able to make almost anything work. He took great pride in helping others and in creating and fixing things himself.

Ted was preceded in death by Arlene, who passed in 2012; and his sister, Leatrice.

He is survived by four children: Chet (Debra) Naids, Fred (Karen) Naids, Stacy Cherwony, and Reesa (Craig) Ostroff; seven grandchildren: Adam (Elena) Naids, Brandon (Katie) Slater Naids, Tara Cherwony, Carly Cherwony, Jake (Ashley) Cherwony, Julie Ostroff, and Sydnee Ostroff; and three great-grandchildren: Harper Slater Naids, Nora Naids, and Stella Naids.

Family and friends will be received by the family at 9:00 AM on Sunday, August 30, with the service starting promptly at 9:30 AM at Goldsteins' Rosenberg's Funeral Directors, Suburban North, 310 2nd Street Pike, Southampton. For those unable to attend, a livestream link is available here. A committal service will immediately follow at King David Memorial Park Cemetery, 3594 Bristol Road, Bensalem.

Family and friends are invited after the cemetery to the home of Reesa and Craig Ostroff. Shiva will be held on Sunday from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM and Monday from 6:00 PM -8:00 PM.
