THEODORE MAGID

Theodore (Ted) Thomas Magid of Norristown passed away Tuesday, November 6th, 2018. He was 86.
Born in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late Harry and Lillian Magid and was a lifelong resident of Norristown, PA.
He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Lynne (Kline) Magid. A devoted brother to his sister Shirley Weiss. A dedicated father to his three children Jonathan and Dawn, Marty and Mary, Holly and Steven Lichter. Ted was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren and lovingly called Pop Pop. He was loved by all, Drew, Brett, Craig, Marissa, Matt, Danielle and Seth.

Ted was born January 26, 1932. He was a graduate of Norristown High School and took over the family business after the passing of his father. He proudly served his country in the army as a private with the armor tank brigade in the Korean War. Upon completion of his service he joined Levino Steel which became Kaiser Inc. and spent over 30 years with increasing responsibility in production, operations and management. He enjoyed mentoring chemical engineering students for years. After taking an early retirement he started Metro Marketing a successful insurance and financial planning company. He retired again and enjoyed his winters at his condominium in Florida. Ted was an avid sports fan. He loved his Eagles, Phillies, Sixers and Flyers. He was a lifelong member of Tiferet Bet Israel Synagogue.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Friday November 9th at Tiferet Bet Israel Synagogue, 1920 Skippack Pike, Blue Bell PA. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 AM and services will begin at 9:30 AM. Interment to follow at TBI Cemetery, 348 Fairfield Road, Plymouth Meeting, PA. Shiva to be observed at the home of Holly & Steven Lichter on Friday and Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Birthright Israel Foundation or Tiferet Bet Israel Synagogue.
