Sylvia (widow of A. Benjamin Goodman) passed away May 2, 2020 at age 98 and is survived by sons Robert & Fred, 2 granddaughters (Carly & Lesley), and a great-granddaughter. Sylvia was born in Philadelphia, PA (1921) to Israel Sarnoff and Rose (Hoffman) Sarnoff, immigrants from Ukraine. After moving to Norma, NJ, she graduated from Vineland High (1938) and at 21, moved to Philadelphia to work at the Naval shipyard. After Sylvia married Ben (1949) they lived in their home for 58 years, made many lifelong friends, and grew old together on Trotter St. They enjoyed playing cards and worked out at the Klein Branch JCC where Sylvia taught water exercise. When Sylvia moved to assisted living (2013) her sparkling personality delighted the staff, telling off-color jokes and cracking up her audience. She moved to Brooke Grove (2017) Retirement Village in Sandy Spring, MD, where Fred entertained her at the piano. Sylvia was loved by all who knew her.
