SYLVIA FISHBEIN (nee Levinson) on August 9, 2024. A true woman of valor, Sylvia dedicated her life to the care of others. As a young mother, she pursued her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing, while working full-time in the field. She ultimately earned her School Nurse Certificate and served for many years in the Philadelphia public schools. An avid volunteer, Sylvia committed countless hours to the Women’s Center of Montgomery County and the National Constitution Center. She was a lifelong member of Beth Tikvah B’nai Jeshurun. Perhaps Sylvia’s greatest passion was supporting her grandchildren by attending their performances, games, and meets, and hosting weekly family Shabbat dinners.
As a child and young adult, Sylvia was an accomplished musician, playing viola in the NJ State Orchestra and flute in the Temple University Marching Band.
Sylvia was the beloved wife of the late Bennett, loving mother of Naomi Reses (Stephen) and Joel I. Fishbein (Rachel Ezekiel-Fishbein), dear sister of the late Alfred Levinson, and devoted grandmother of Dana (Max), Daniel, Matthew, Adam, Andrew, and Emma.
Relatives and friends are invited to funeral services, Sunday, 12:30 PM precisely at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Funeral Directors, Inc., 6410 N. Broad St., Phila. Int. Shalom Mem. Park.
