Sylvia Chalfin, born Sylvia Cohen on November 9, 1924, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Clara Brill, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2024, at the home of her daughter, Helaine Noonan, in Holland, PA.  

Sylvia was the beloved wife of the late Albert (Sonny) Corr and Leon Chalfin. She is survived by her daughters Helaine (Terry) Noonan and Ann (Bunny) Corr, as well as her daughter-in-law Barbara Chalfin Klarberg (Vic). She is also survived by her stepson Joel Chalfin and was predeceased by her stepsons Frank Chalfin and Jerry Chalfin. Sylvia was mother-in-law to the late Bobbie, Gayle, Nancy, and Linda Chalfin.  

A cherished Bubbie, Sylvia leaves behind a legacy of love and family. She was a devoted Bubbie to Alex (Amber), Jake (Jac), Mike (Lori), Rob (Bonnie), Becky (Jason), Peter (Hillary), Brian (Rachel), Ricky (Nettie), Kerry, and Blair (Heather), April (Tony) and will be deeply missed by her 17 great-grandchildren. 

Sylvia was a Bubbie to everyone who knew and loved her. Her ability to make everyone laugh, tell great stories and jokes, and her feisty, strong-willed spirit made her an instant friend to all. Her warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family were evident throughout her life, and she made everyone feel special.

 A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 1st at 1:30 PM at Goldsteins' Rosenberg's Suburban North, 310 2nd Street Pike. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. Shiva will be observed at the home of Helaine & Terry on Thursday, Friday and Sunday only 12pm-5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to PAWS, phillypaws.org. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Sylvia’s caregivers for their incredible support and care.  

Sylvia had a fondness for anything with leopard print. In her memory, please feel free to wear something with leopard print to her funeral, as she would have loved it!  Sylvia Chalfin will be remembered with love and affection by her family and friends. Her legacy of compassion and joy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
