After the War, he attended Temple University and Temple University School of Dentistry, graduating in 1953. He practiced dentistry in Philadelphia and Elkins Park for the next 50 years. He never stopped expanding his passion and knowledge of dentistry and accumulated thousands of hours of continuing education. His numerous professional credentials and continuing education permitted him to spread advice and information to family, friends, as well as his patients. Sylvan loved sports, played tennis, and bridge, and he and Connie traveled extensively. After retiring, they chose to stay in the area to watch the expansion of their sons' lives and help their grand-children grow.
