Sybil Klein

Age 86, of Willow Grove, PA, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away on December 13, 2022. Beloved mother of Michael (Jennifer) and Alan (Jodi) and the late Diane. Devoted grandmother of Rachel Klein (Enrique Sagarnaga), Lindsay Rounds (Kyle), Jacqueline Klein, Harry Klein, Rebecca Segal (Michael), Andrew Klein, Robert Grindlinger (Tess), and Fallon Grindlinger, and proud great-grandmother of Madeline and Benjamin Segal and Henry Rounds. Born in Philadelphia to Solomon and Florence Matthews, Sybil was a 1954 graduate of Overbrook High School, where she met her husband, Robert, in the school show. They were married in 1956 and operated luncheonettes including The Pantry in Center City. He died in 1969, leaving her a widow at age 32 with three children. She retired at 75 as an analyst at what is now the Naval Supply Systems Command, Weapons System Support in Northeast Philadelphia. She enjoyed cooking, volunteering at Jeanes Hospital, watching Hallmark movies, doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, organizing Overbrook reunions, and eating corned beef specials. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service at 9:30 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2022, at Goldstein's Southampton, 310 Second Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966. Burial will be private.
