Stephen Losben

Stephen Jay Losben, M.D., aged 70, of Holland, Pa. (Bucks County), passed away early morning Wednesday, December 14, 2016.

Steve is survived by his daughter, Rabbi Emily Losben-Ostrov of Temple Anshe Hesed in Erie and her husband Ruben Ostrov. He is also survived by his loving wife of over 45 years, Andrea, his son, Joshua (Rabbi Lisa Kingston), his daughter, Samantha and brother, Mark.

Steve was born on December 11, 1946, in Philadelphia. He graduated from Northeast High School, Albright College, and did his medical training at Hahnemann Medical School and Brown University. Steve was still in practice as a Dermatologist - having had so many beloved patients for over 30 years that he even began to specialize in Geriatric Dermatology. He was brilliant (yet humble), very funny (even if his kids didn't always laugh at his jokes), and truly a people person who loved all humans and animals and never met a stranger.

There will be a memorial service at Temple Anshe Hesed, 930 Liberty Street, on Wednesday, December 21st at 7 p.m., after which Rabbi and Ruben will receive visitors at the Temple. Donations in his memory may be made to the Temple Anshe Hesed - Rabbi's Mitzvah Fund, The American Heart Association, or the Yiddish Book Center, or the charity of your choice. Condolences can be sent to the family via Temple Anshe Hesed.
