Stanley M. Schwarz, distinguished trial attorney, Korean War veteran, mentor, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on July 17, 2026, at age 95, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Philadelphia during the Great Depression, Stan’s life was shaped by perseverance, resilience, and a deep commitment to helping others. He attended 24 schools before graduating from Germantown High School and began working at age eight to support his family, developing the work ethic and compassion that guided him throughout his life.

After high school, Stan served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Trained as a cryptographer, he later graduated from Officer Candidate School and returned as an Executive Officer, earning respect for his fairness and integrity. More than fifty years later, he received a letter of appreciation from the President of South Korea, a recognition he deeply valued.

Following his service, Stan pursued his dream of becoming a lawyer. Temple University Law School Dean Benjamin Boyer admitted him after just one year of college, recognizing his determination. Stan graduated in 1958 as Editor-in-Chief of the Temple Law Review and served as a law clerk in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.

In 1960, he joined the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, rising to Chief of the Major Trial Division and trying thousands of cases. That same year, he opened a neighborhood law office in Port Richmond, beginning a legal career spanning more than 65 years devoted to serving others with integrity and compassion.

Stan founded Schwarz & Schwarz, P.C., building a practice known for both legal excellence and respect for every client. He mentored generations of young lawyers and quietly helped countless people through difficult times. To many, he was more than an attorney—he was a source of guidance and hope. He took great pride in seeing the firm continue through three generations of his family.

Stan also authored his memoir, The Roller Coaster Life of Flappy Ears, reflecting on a life devoted to service, justice, family, and optimism.

Nothing brought him greater joy than being “Poppy.” He cherished watching his grandchildren grow and treasured every moment with them.

Stan shared a loving marriage with his wife, Kathy. Together they enjoyed travel, dancing to Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman, and time with family and friends. His warmth, humor, and joyful spirit made him a beloved companion.

A lifelong golfer, Stan spent more than fifty years at Bensalem Township Country Club, where he was known as much for his friendships and storytelling as for his love of the game. He believed golf—and life—were best enjoyed with laughter and good company.

Stan is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy; his children, Daniel (Amy) Schwarz and Stacy; his grandchildren, Alex, Campbell, Danielle, and Jackson; his sister Barbara, sister-in-law Marion, and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and those who knew him as Uncle Stan; dear friends; and countless clients, colleagues, and mentees whose lives he touched.

He will be remembered not for titles or accolades, but for the lives he enriched with kindness, encouragement, and hope. Whether as Stan, Uncle Stan, Dad, Poppy, mentor, or friend, he made people feel valued and left them better than he found them. His legacy lives on in his family and in all those he inspired.

Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Funeral Directors Suburban North, 310 Second Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966. The family will receive visitors beginning at 11:00 a.m., with services at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Shalom Memorial Park, 25 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.
