Stanley Fredrick Cohen, 75, of Richboro, PA, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2023 with his loving wife Bonnie by his side. He was born in South Philadelphia on January 2, 1948, to the late Edward and Mary (nee Levin) Cohen.
The first in his family to graduate university, Stanley attended the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science and worked as a chemist for more than four decades at several companies in the Philadelphia area. He was a lifelong Philly sports fan and an avid traveler in his post-retirement years, touring with Bonnie across Europe, the Middle East, Canada, and the US, especially enjoying visits to National Parks including Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon. Stanley found contentment in the routine and simplicity of day-to-day life: weekly trips to the farmers market for the best Jersey peaches and tomatoes money could buy; hours spent reading Clive Cussler and Tom Clancy novels; Tanner Bros or Goodnoe’s vanilla fudge ice cream; and doting on the many animals the family both raised and adopted over the years, most recently demonstrated through his habit of setting aside a small nibble of the previous day’s pastry for each of the dogs to enjoy as a morning treat. While many will remember Stanley as a man of few words happily dressed in his mismatched wardrobe (plaid with stripes!), those who knew him best will remember him as a person who ensured those around him were taken care of in his own quiet way. His presence is greatly missed.
Stanley was the loving and devoted husband of Bonnie (nee Ettinger) Cohen, father of Mordecai Cohen Ettinger, Seth Cohen (Nuala Bobowski) and Jeremy Cohen (Wren Misbach), and brother of Sydney Cohen (Ruth).
