Stanley Jay Buden passed away June 7, 2022 at the age of 75.
Mr. Stanley Buden was born in Baltimore, MD. He was adopted by the late Rosalie Rosenbloom Buden and the late Sidney Buden when he was four days old and was raised in the Jewish religion. His Hebrew name was “Shalom Yusel”. He went to Pimlico Junior High School in the early sixties and entered law school for about 2 years. In 1967 he volunteered to serve in the military and was Honorable Discharged after service in the Air Force. His expertise was Civil War History, and he passed the Gettysburg Battlefield tour guide exam. He played guitar since he was 9 and other musical instruments as well. He was known by friends to be sensitive, smart, sociable and had a sense of humor. He was a speed reader and read many books and novels. Hockey was his favorite sport and he enjoyed auctions, flea markets and yard sales. When he went dancing, he met his wife, Grace. Stanley had three marriages in his life. He was married to Ms. Carol Ruth Porter in the early seventies and to Ms. Louisa So in the late seventies. Louisa So is originally from the Republic and Islands of the Philippines. He owned and managed a music store briefly in South Philadelphia, PA in the early eighties while living with Ms. Louisa in Bristol, PA for 6 years. His one commendable achievement was a poem that he and Ms. Louisa Lee So wrote together called “The Eagle and the Tyranny”, kept in the late President Ronald Reagan’s Library. During his years of employment, Stanley mostly worked as a salesman or manager.
Stanley lived in Northeast Philadelphia from December 2010, to the end of 2019 when he retired. He had visited a Jewish Temple in his neighborhood. He also had been to Bible conferences and to Bible studies with friends at the house of Mr. Guy Berry, gravesite service speaker. He had the opportunity to hear the New Testament doctrines and was in touch with the Word of God to the last day of his demise at Silver Stream Rehab & Nursing Home in Spring House, PA, where he was residing since 2019. He finally succumbed to cancer after a three year struggle, and died gracefully and peacefully on June 7, 2022 at 3:00 PM.
Stanley Jay Buden is survived by his wife, Grace Oleson Buden, his stepson Clinton, stepdaughter Carrie, Aunt, Anita Rosenbloom and several cousins, namely; Andrew, Michael, Billy, Howard, Scott, Barbara, Eileen and Frona, and past employees Roberto, Ulysses, Alex, Carlos, Arturo, friends Bill Ries and Judy H., and close friend, Howard Katz.
Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 9:00 AM precisely at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown PA 18940.
