Stacie Goldsmith of Wyncote, Pennsylvania, a devoted mother, sister, daughter, niece, cousin, aunt, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 64. Her greatest joy in life was her son, Jeremy, whom she raised on her own and loved deeply. That joy grew as Jeremy married Amanda, his beloved wife and Stacie’s devoted daughter-in-law, who cared for Stacie with love and kindness, and as Stacie became “Nana” to their five-month-old daughter, Eliana.

Stacie was born in Lower Merion to Sylvia Pechter and Bob Murray on February 15, 1962. She was a devoted granddaughter to Rose Lipkin and shared a close bond with her siblings Bonnie, Tina, Lance, Valerie and Alison. She was a loving aunt to her cherished nieces and nephews Erika, Jennifer and Jason, Emmanuelle, Melissa and Alex, and took great pleasure in being part of their lives.

Stacie raised Jeremy in Cheltenham Township, where they made their home for nearly 20 years. She took great pride in the life they built together and created a warm and loving home. She loved the simple pleasures of home and family, including her beloved cat, Cookie.

For much of her working life, Stacie’s work focused around human services and education. Stacie enjoyed working alongside her sister Bonnie at the Northeast Learning Center at the end of her career.

Judaism was an important part of her life. She was a member of Congregation Keneseth Israel and its Sisterhood, traveled to Israel as a young adult, and cared deeply about instilling a love of Judaism in her family.

Stacie battled Parkinson’s disease for over a decade and lived at Deer Meadows over the past years. She not only faced the disease with remarkable determination, but also helped lead support groups for others on the same journey. Her family is deeply grateful to the staff and caregivers at Deer Meadows for the compassion, dignity, and care they gave Stacie over the years.

In her final months, Stacie was blessed with the joy of becoming Nana. Eliana was a gift to her and a powerful reason to keep fighting. She treasured being a grandmother and was so proud to see the family she had devoted her life to continue into a new generation.

Stacie is survived by her son, Jeremy; her daughter-in-law, Amanda; her granddaughter, Eliana; her sister Alison and her children, Emmanuelle, Melissa (Rafaela and Gabriela), and Alex; her sister Tina and her daughter Erika; her aunt Nancy and cousins Michael (Max and Jamie), and Robert; and her extended family and friends, including Vicky, who always cared for her with compassion and kindness. Stacie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
