
RUBY, SONIA BINDER 90 - on December 24, 2013. A 1944 graduate of the Temple University School of Music who had a five decade career in Atlantic City as a musician and a singer. Follow-ing the death of her husband, Victor, Mrs. Ruby became the host of "Sunday Music Concert Hall" on WMID. She was president of the local AAUW, Atlantic County Medical Auxiliary, the NJ Brandeis Association. She taught music to the blind, to prisoners, led choral groups including Beth Judah Synagogue. A member of the NJ State Board of Education in the 1970's. She was a well-known soprano who sang at many occasions in the Atlantic City area. Wife of the late Dr. Victor Ruby. Mother of Dr. Edward (Michelle), Leon, Dr. Marianne (Dr. Gary Emmett), Rosalind, Dr. Samuel (Beth), and the late Richard. Sister of the Peter Binder and the late Dr. Samuel and Dr. Martin. Also survived by nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to funeral services Friday 10:30 AM precisely GOLDSTEINS ROSENBERGS RAPHAEL-SACKS 6410 N. Broad St. Int. Rodef Shalom Cemetery, Northfield, NJ at approximately 1 PM. Following burial, a luncheon will be held at Beth Judah Synagogue, Ventnor, NJ. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Esther Boyer School of Music at Temple University or the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
