LUBIN
DR. SIMON M. LUBIN, age 94, Aug. 2, 2010. Survived by his wife Mae (nee Schwartz), son Myron Lubin (Essie), daughter Debbie Bernstein (Les) and his grandchildren Leah Fanslau (Christopher), Pamela and Michael Bernstein.
Dr. Lubin D.O., M.D., Distinguished Fellow of ACOOG, a past president of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists, was a competitive swimmer in high school and college. He graduated from PCOM in 1938 where he received his Doctor of Osteopathy. In 1942 he went to Kansas City Univ. of Physicians and Surgeons where he received his medical degree. Following this he went to St. Peter's Hospital in Brooklyn, NY where he was an intern, resident and chief resident. He returned to Philadelphia where he joined in partnership with Emanuel Fliegelman, both founders of Parkview Hospital which is currently Cancer Center of America. When he retired from medical practice in 1989 he began teaching at PCOM and taught senior medical students at the Health Care Center. He was made Professor Emeritus of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
