JAHR SIMA (nee ADAR) Passed away at home in Langhorne, PA, on March 24, 2021, surrounded by family. Sima was predeceased by her parents, Esther (Greenberg) and Harry Adar, her former husband, Benjamin Jahr and companion, Melvin Weisbord. She is survived by her dear sister, Pearl Berkson, Pembroke Pines, FL, and devoted children, Harriet Jahr (David Philips), Langhorne, PA, Steven Jahr (Pearl Schein), Philadelphia, PA, and Howard Jahr (Wendy Molnick), Warrington, PA, and her grandchildren: Hannah and Nate Philips, Jessica, Taylor, Brendan and Ryan Jahr. Sima was a cherished matriarch of the family. During years as a homemaker, Sima was a prolific painter, printmaker and sculptor. She served as an executive board secretary for the Cheltenham Art Centre. During the 1960s her works appeared in juried exhibits at the Woodmere Art Museum, the Philadelphia Commercial Museum, and the Cheltenham Art Centre. Her oil paintings were displayed in a one man show at the Philadelphia Art Alliance. In 1965 one of her juried and prized oil paintings was featured in the Philadelphia Sunday Bulletin. When her children were older, Sima worked as a teacher and then guidance counselor for the Philadelphia School District. Although she retired in 2000, she continued substituting until age 79. Sima also served on committees for the Village of Flowers Mill Community where she was actively engaged. She loved playing mahjong and bridge. Sima traveled the world with friends and her companion. She was an avid exercise enthusiast and reader. She enjoyed many summers spent with her family at the Jersey shore.
