Sidney Bernard Zamochnick

SIDNEY BERNARD ZAMOCHNICK on February 6, 2026. Beloved husband of Barbara M. Shoemaker (nee Loney); Devoted son of the late Clara and Samuel; Dear brother of Alan Zamochnick; Loving stepfather of Ann Meredith (Joe Wingert) and Craig Shoemaker; Father-in-law of Carolyn Clark; Adoring Zaydeh of Grace, Quint, Meredith, Justin, Jared, Jackson, and Chloe.

Sidney was the sole practitioner and owner of a CPA firm with offices in Washington DC. He was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 212, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, class of 1963 with a BA in chemistry, and a graduate of the University of Maryland, class of 1969, with an MBA.

As a freelance photographer in New York City, his work was published in Life Magazine. He was a member of the American Chemical Society, Alpha Chi Sigma Fraternity of Professionals in Chemistry, and the National Association of Accountants. He was the author of numerous chemistry research publications.

Sidney was a world traveler and a patriot who loved his country. He cherished his family and friends. He had a love of opera, old time radio, literature, history, comics, dogs, America’s West, and all things American. His passion for learning never ended. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
