Dr. Sidney J Skolnick, 80, passed away on June 29, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Philadelphia on March 29, 1946. He was the third of three sons of Benjamin and Rose (nee Schwam) Skolnick.

Sid was an avid fan of Philadelphia sports and faithfully followed the Eagles, Phillies, and Sixers throughout his life. Sid received his doctorate in education science. He taught physical education at Rhawnhurst Elementary School for over 35 years.

He is survived by his brother Harvey (Eileen) Skolnick, sister-in-law Sharon Skolnick, nephew Jay (Samantha) Skolnick, nieces Dina Buno, Amy (Erik) Elsner, Bonnie (A Trevor) Ackerman and Judy (Marshall) Shigon. He is also survived by many loving great nieces and nephews. He is the brother of the late Arnold Skolnick.
