Sidney Ira Nitzberg

Sidney Ira Nitzberg, 77, of Princeton, NJ, passed away on February 19, 2026. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, he was the beloved son of the late Cecelia and Julius Nitzberg.

Sidney is survived by his sister, Sandra (Sandy) Hyman; his nieces, Elise (Brad) Bernstein and Michelle (David) Lauer; and his cherished great-nieces, Jules, Jillian, and Caitlyn. He was affectionately known as “Uncle” and will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. Other than spending time with family, Sidney's biggest passion was watching the Philadelphia Phillies and he never missed a game. All who knew Sidney said that he was kind, grateful and polite.

Relatives and friends are invited to funeral services on Wednesday February 25 at 1:30 PM at Goldstein’s’ Rosenberg’s Suburban North, 310 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966, followed by interment at Montefiore Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at the home of Sandy Hyman in Newtown, PA on Wednesday February 25 from 6-8 PM and Thursday February 26 from 2-8 PM. Contributions in his memory may be made to Hadassah.org
