Sidney Alexander Mittman, of Williamsburg, New York was born on June 16, 1923 to the late Morris and Esther Mittman. He passed away at age 95 on July 10, 2018 in the home of his son Dean in Springfield, Missouri. Sidney graduated from City College of New York in 1951. Sidney proudly served in the U.S Army's 75th Infantry Division from 1943 to 1946. During World War II he bravely fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He later graduated from City College of New York with an electronics engineering degree. Thereafter, he was employed by US Government where he specialized in sonar and navigation research. Sid retired in 1988. Sidney was the loving husband of Marilyn for 54 wonderful years. He was preceded in death by Marilyn and his daughter, Tina. Sidney is survived by his son, Dean (Chris); and his beloved grandchildren, Joshua (Jen), Daniel (Morgan), Samantha, Drew, Bailey, and Kate. He was a proud member of Beth Sholom Congregation, Elkins Park, PA. Friends and family can pay their respects at the funeral service at 12 noon, Friday, July 13 at Roosevelt Memorial Park, 2701 Old Lincoln Highway, Trevose, Pennsylvania, 19053.
