SIDNEY, April 29, 2013. Husband of the late Edythe (nee Adlersberg) Ivins of Phila., PA. Devoted father of Robert Ivins of Knoxville, TN (Jill) and the late Jacqueline Bilker (Michael). Grandfather of Mitchell Bilker of King of Prussia, PA (Caryn Stivelman), Lawrence Bilker of Wayne, PA (Karey), Lori Bilker of New York, NY (Gregory Kong), Tony Ivins of Tampa, FL (Smith) and Shane Ivins of Hilton Head, SC. Great grandfather of Matthew Bilker, Leah Bilker, Jocelyn Bilker, Livia Ivins and Asher Ivins.
Mr. Ivins was born in Phila. on March 12, 1919 and married his wife on Aug. 8, 1942. He graduated from the Univ. of PA in 1940 and was an officer in the U.S. Army Air Force, stationed overseas for 3 years in WWII. Mr. Ivins worked for 40 years for the School District of Philadelphia and retired in 2003 as a department head of Mathematics.
Relatives and friends are invited to Graveside Services Wednesday May 1st, 11 A.M. precisely at Montefiore Cem. (Sec. 1), officiating by Rabbi Jacob Rosner. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Center, Attn: Carol Edwards, Univ of PA, 3615 Chestnut St., Room 212, Phila., PA 19104.
