With sadness we announce the death of Sherry Gail Moman, wife to Donald Moman, mother of Dave and Edward.
Sherry was born in New York City, the youngest of Samuel and Helen Alpert's four children (Sue Kanterman, Carol Alpert, Jordan Alpert).
Sherry and Donald Moman met in Syracuse NY where she had graduated Suma cum laude and was attending graduate school. They moved to Philadelphia and married in 1981.
Sherry worked for Strawbridge and Clothiers traveling the world of art design in fashion and textiles. She was a diligent working woman, extremely intelligent and an intrepid learner.
To give her sons room to grow, the family moved to Philadelphia's suburbs, and to give them the best education, she taught over 20 years at The Miquon School. Teaching kindergarten was a very important aspect of Sherry's life. She loved that she and her colleague Toni touched the essence of many young ones through their insight and care.
Since childhood, Sherry was a first-class problem-solver, wise in soul/spirit, pragmatic and straightforward.
She was filled with awe and wonder for all things beautiful and alive, and chose cooking, quilting, and Origami to express her artistic talents.
After the boys grew up, she raised laying hens, chickens and turkeys in her backyard; they were "her girls".
