Shelley Alyse Most

Shelley Alyse Most, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, wife, teacher, and friend, passed away on September 4, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was 73 years old.

Born on April 23, 1952, in Philadelphia to Ruth and Herman Harrison, Shelley grew up in a home filled with love. She shared a lifelong bond with her brother, Ellis (Lauree), and her cousins in her large extended family, who were a constant source of joy throughout her life.

Shelley was married to Edward Akselrad and later to Norman Most. She was the proud and devoted mother of five sons — Ross, Eric, David, Chad, and Hunter — and the cherished mother-in-law of Lisa, Emi, Diane, and Rachel, all of whom she loved like daughters. Shelley also became a second mother to many "adopted children" who found comfort, guidance, and unconditional love in her presence.

Her pride and joy were her grandchildren: Eva, Alexander, Isabella, Leah, Noah, Reagan, McKenna, Julia, Natalie, and Nathan. Nothing brought Shelley more happiness than being surrounded by her family, who were truly the center of her world.

For more than 30 years, Shelley dedicated her life to teaching; shaping the minds and hearts of countless students. Her kindness, patience, and unwavering belief in the potential of every child left an indelible mark on her community.

Shelley will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the way she embraced everyone as family. Her legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely, the lessons she imparted, and the traditions carried on by those she held dear.
