Sheila Weiss of Warminster, PA, formerly of Langhorne and Philadelphia, PA, died after a brief battle with cancer. She was 89 years old. Daughter of the late Al (Abe) and Lottie Weiss. Sister of the late Sherry Barisch. Mother of the late Honey Taylor and Susan (Mark) Forcinito. Grandmother of Tabetha (Kevin) Cintorino and Austin and Jared Forcinito.
Sheila enjoyed working hard throughout her life. She began her career at a center city law firm at age 17, before eventually leaving with one of the lawyers to start a broadcasting company, of which she was vice president. She had great success professionally, all while being a single parent. She continued working in her children's business until shortly before her death.
Sheila loved traveling and visited many countries around the world. Her home was full of the many treasures she brought back from her trips. For many years she traveled to Israel to volunteer on military bases with Volunteers for Israel. There she made special friendships, including her long term partner, Walter Berk, whom she enjoyed many years with until his passing.
Most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Whether working in the family business, going out to dinner, weekly movie nights or the many vacations to Disney World, being with her family was her number one priority.
Relatives and friends are invited to Graveside services on Thursday, May 22, 11 AM precisely at Shalom Memorial Park (Section M-1), 3573 Pine Rd, Huntingdon Valley PA 19006. Following services the family will gather in the Community Center at Bryn Gweled.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia or to a charity of the donor's choice.
