Sheila Rochelle Fleishman Bergman, 89, passed away at home on Friday, March 6, 2026, with her children at her side. Born on June 5, 1936, in the Bronx, New York, Sheila lived a life defined by compassion, service, and dedication to helping others.

Sheila spent many years in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, where she raised her family, before later moving to Pompano Beach, Florida. A pioneering social worker, Sheila helped shape the emerging field of private geriatric care management. She was the founder of Eldercare, through which she dedicated her career to advocating for older adults and supporting families navigating the challenges of aging. Her work helped countless individuals live with dignity and receive the care they deserved.

Sheila was deeply committed to her community and her faith. She was an active member of her local synagogue and a dedicated participant in Hadassah, where she formed many lasting friendships and contributed her time and energy to causes she believed in.

Sheila was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bernard Sidney Bergman. She is survived by her children: Noel (Tammy) Bergman, Evan Bergman, and Carolyn (Eric) Bergman Petersen. She was a devoted grandmother to Sidney and Jason Petersen, Kayla and Nathaniel Bergman, and Chaya Friedman, who brought her great pride and joy.

Sheila will be remembered for her warmth, intelligence, and unwavering commitment to caring for others. Her legacy lives on through the family she loved and the many lives she touched through her work and community involvement.

Relatives and friends are invited to Graveside Services on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Roosevelt Memorial Park, 2701 Old Lincoln Highway, Trevose, PA 19053. 

She will be deeply missed by the many who knew and loved her.
