Sean Snyder

Sean Andrew Snyder passed away unexpectedly and suddenly on March 22, 2024. He was the second-born son of Robert and Marlene Snyder, and he is survived by his elder brother Lonnie Snyder, Lonnie's fiancee, Samantha Solar, as well as Sean's wife of 5 years, Helen Anderson Snyder and his brother-in-law, Malcolm Anderson, his mother-in-law Halette Anderson and his father-in-law, the late Robert Anderson. Sean and Helen both attended Albright College, which is where they met in 2010. They began dating in 2011, were married on June 24th, 2018, and were very involved in each other's lives, whether they were going to the movies, baseball games, concerts or just getting coffee together.

Sean was born in Philadelphia and he and his family were very active in the Oxford Circle Jewish Community Circle. Sean attended Carnell Elementary School, Pine Road Elementary School, Murray Avenue School, and graduated from Lower Moreland High School in 2008. He was an active member of the cross-country team there and he had a passion for drumming. Sean was involved in many organizations at Albright College, such as Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity, the President of Oxfam America there, POPS-Peer Orientation Program, SGA-Student Government Association, as well as a tutor for the Writing Center. Sean cared deeply about being Jewish, and celebrating Jewish holidays. He was a loving and caring husband, thoughtful brother, devoted son and a wonderful friend, coach and fraternity brother. Sean was very active in Boy Scouts, Jewish Scouting and he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended Treasure Island Camp, as well as Camp Hart in the summertime. He would often call Treasure Island his second home, before attending Albright College. Sean loved teaching 11th Grade American History to his students. He made history come alive in his classroom and made it relevant and relatable for his students. Sean always said that if he wasn't teaching, then he would be coaching. He coached the Girls' Basketball Team at the Math, Civics and Sciences Charter School, and led them to the first round of the State Playoffs. He also coached JJBL-Boys Youth Basketball, as well as boys' baseball at the Juniors and Seniors Level at Chester Valley Little League in Malvern, PA. In recent years, Sean was one of the assistant coaches for the Jenkintown High School Drakes-Varsity Boys' Baseball Team. He helped lead the team to become PIAA District 1 Champions in 2022. In the summertime, he was also the Head Coach for Jenkintown Angels Legion Baseball Team, a community-based league in Montgomery County for young men ages 16-21. Sean was also a talented left-handed pitcher and he taught private pitching lessons. Sean was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, Flyers, Sixers, Green Bay Packers and LSU College Football and Baseball. Sean had been enjoying being a member of the Albright Alumni Association Board, as well as helping out the current brothers of Alpha Sigma Phi, in an advisory capacity. Sean will always be remembered as a kind and compassionate man of righteousness, who cared deeply about his friends, family, co-workers, fraternity brothers, and his fellow coaches and players.
