Sara Sherman

Sara Sherman (nee Lamdan), 87, passed away peacefully at her home on November 25, 2025.

Wife of the late Ezra Sherman, mother of Steve (Lana), Estee (Jeff Solar), Vivi (Keith Sadel); grandmother to Marissa (Jeremy), Jennifer (Adam), Justin (Emily), Brandon, Benjamin and Sidney; great-grandmother to Everett, Wyatt, Alexander and Benjamin.

Sara was born on August 8, 1938 in Kamenets-Podolsk, Ukraine. Having survived the Holocaust, she immigrated to Israel on the Exodus ship and was present during the earliest years of the state, where she became an integral part of its developing community. Sara embodied her love for Israel throughout her life and passed this love on to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In Israel, she worked at Bank Leumi and went on to become a beloved school teacher and continued that passion when the family moved to Philadelphia, teaching Hebrew school. She had a zest for life, learning and art and opened her home to friends, family, and other immigrants throughout her life

Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services on Friday, November 28th at 9:30AM at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Funeral Directors Suburban North, 310 Second Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966. Interment to follow at Shalom Memorial Park.
