Sara Russock

RUSSOCK SARA 102, passed away in her home on December 12, 2022. She was born in Rovno, The Ukraine and came to this country as a toddler along with her parents and older sister. After spending some of her early years in Oil City, PA she and her family moved to Philadelphia where she lived for the rest of her life. She was a loving, strong, smart, and elegant woman, courageous in the face of life’s many challenges, proud of her family’s many accomplishments and generous in offering to others the wisdom she had gained over a long life well-lived. She was predeceased by her husband Sidney, her sons James and Charles and her siblings Betty Korsin and Meyer Risch. She is survived by her son Howard, her grandchildren Jodi and Victor, and her daughters-in-law Yeeda (Hirsh) and Christine (Niewenhous). She is also survived by her beloved sister-in-law Etta Risch and several nieces and nephews, including a special relationship with nieces Janis Risch and Anna Christensen. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Community College of Philadelphia 50th Anniversary Scholarship Fund.
