Sandy Handel

Sandy Handel of Mt. Laurel, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the age of 91.

Sandy was the beloved wife of the late Samuel Handel for 67 wonderful years until his passing in 2020. Born in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York City, she was the daughter of Sol and Lillian Berger and the older sister of Lenore Katz (David).

Laurel.

Sandy was known for her warmth, kindness, outgoing spirit, and infectious sense of fun. She had a gift for making people feel special and was deeply loved by all who knew her. She was a devoted mother, to Patti Stilman (Randy) and the late Bruce Handel, a proud grandmother “Mom Mom” to Stefanie (Christopher), Jamie (John), Ross (Katie) and Shauna (Christopher) and an ecstatic great-grandmother “GiGi” to Sophia and also Kai and Scarlett.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son and sister.
