Sandra "Sandi" Packel

Born April 18, 1941, died October 11, 2024. Married to John Packel for 62 years. Devoted mother of Robin (Shelley Klop), Amy (deceased), Andy (Lora), and “adopted” French son Dominique Dubois (Caroline). Loving Mom-mom to grandchildren Nory, Corinne, Kenna and Jesse. Sandi reveled in time spent with her extended family and friends. Sandi graduated from Girls High in Philadelphia, and then from the University of Pennsylvania.  She spent her adult life as a French teacher, a lover of French culture, and France. She taught French to students from kindergarten through sixth grade, first at Melrose Academy in Cheltenham, and then for thirty years at The Meadowbrook School, in Meadowbrook, PA. Each summer Sandi would accompany some of her graduating sixth graders on a trip to France. In addition, Sandi was an avid reader, game player (mahjong, cards, etc.) and tennis player. She enjoyed attending Philadelphia Orchestra concerts and theater performances and traveling the world with her husband. She will be remembered and deeply missed by her friends, family, and hundreds of past students. Family and friends are invited to her Memorial Service on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 4:00 PM GOLDSTEINS’ ROSENBERG’S Funeral Directors, Inc. 6410 N. Broad St. Phila PA 19126. Following services family and friends are also invited back to the home of Andy and Lora Packel.
