Sandra Sue Newman (nee Mislove) passed away peacefully on November 2nd, 2026 at the age of 86. She was predeceased in 2024 by her beloved husband of 64 years Dr. Andrew Newman.

She is pictured here with her loving and devoted daughter Marjorie Faith (Faith) Newman.

Sandy is the daughter of Benjamin Mislove and Rose Mislove (nee Cohen). She was born and raised in West Philadelphia where she attended Overbrook High School graduating in 1958. Thereafter she attended Temple University. Later on in 1979 she received a degree in fine arts from Montgomery County Community College.

Sandy met Andrew in 1959 at Temple University and they married in 1960 settling in Northeast Philadelphia. Faith was born in 1965. Thereafter they moved to Huntingdon Valley, PA which was the family home for almost 50 years.

Most recently Sandy had lived at The Remington in Yardley, PA. She made fast friends with the building staff and residents and won them over with her artistic skills and rollicking sense of humor.

Sandy was truly beautiful inside and out and oh so glamorous. She and Faith were constant companions speaking every night at 7:30 sharp. She was kind to people and animals (especially her cats) and was the best shopping companion one could ever hope for. She was a loving, caring wife, mom, sister and cousin. A smart, worldly conversationalist, with a great smile, laugh and sense of humor.

She will live in the hearts and minds of all the many lives she touched with her kindness, generosity and warmth. She will be forever missed by all those who had the pleasure to know her and be in her company.

Sandy will be laid to rest next to Andrew at Shalom Memorial Park in Huntingdon Valley.
