SANDRA NELSON

NELSON SANDRA (nee KRANZ) daughter of Joseph and Rose (Cohen) passed away on April 22, 2022. Beloved wife of Bernard Nelson for almost 67 years. Loving mother of sons Marc (Abby) and Robert. Predeceased by her treasured son, Richard. Cherished grandmother of Rachael Smith (Jason) and Kate Nelson. Adored great-grandmother of Daisy Smith. After graduating from Temple University with a degree in childhood education, Sandy began her career as a kindergarten teacher. In her free time she could be found outdoors tending her beautiful flower gardens. Floral arranging became her hobby, and combined with her innate creativity, led to her second career as an event planner. She spent over 20 years creating beautiful spaces for weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, birthday celebrations, and many other special events. Sandy was an active board member of the Friends of the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House where she served many roles, including President. Sandy volunteered her time to the house; and she and her husband Bernie paid for many children to attend the Ronald McDonald summer camps. Sandy loved the beach and had a home in Atlantic City where she served on the board of the Atlantic City Holocaust Memorial. The parts of life she valued most were spending time with her family and friends, traveling near and far with her husband Bernie, and enjoying beautiful sunshine-filled days. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Services Monday 12 noon precisely at GOLDSTEINS' RAPHAEL-SACKS SUBURBAN NORTH at 310 Second St. Pike, SOUTHAMPTON, PA 18966. Interment Haym Salomon Memorial Park. Shiva will be observed Monday and Tuesday after 7 P.M. at the home of Marc and Abby Nelson.
