Sandra "Sandy" Kayson

(nee Blatt) Age 89 years of Jenkintown, PA, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Gilbert "Gil" of 66 wonderful years, her loving parents, Etta and Barney Blatt, her dear in-laws, Harry Kosonsky and Eva and Ben Malamud, and her sister-in-law, Marilyn Bergman. Sandy is survived by her children Helene Newman (Neil), Randi Hershgordon (Hal), and Mark Kayson (Heather). Loving and very special Bubby to her grandchildren Samantha (Scott), Ashley (Ari), Morey (Sierra), Emily, and Drew and great-grandchildren Skylar and Summer. Sandy was a graduate of Olney High School and earned an Associate's degree from Temple University.

Sandy had an incredible zest for life and diverse interests; she was a Ruby Life Master in duplicate bridge, avid tennis player, and voracious reader. She lived for uplifting others and served as a leader of several non-profit organizations. Along with her husband, Gil, they founded a program teaching blind children to play golf. Sandy also served as Religious Vice President of Temple Beth Torah Sisterhood and Camp Administrator for Golden Slipper Camp. Most of all, she found her true love in raising money for Israel and the Hadassah Hospital as Membership Vice President and a Game Day Chair of the Henrietta Szold Chapter. The annual Game Day fundraiser, which incorporated her love of bridge and other social games, raised tens of thousands of dollars over the years. Her leadership and profound impact on Hadassah led her to become the first of her chapter to be honored with the Myrtle Wreath Award for significant contributions to Jewish life.
