SAMUEL H., 85, of Phila, former Phila School Board Member, Teacher and Principal, died June 13, 2004 at the Artman Home after a long illness; beloved husband of Ethel, late wife of 62 years until her death a year and a half ago; loving father of daughter, Shelly Rubin-Shorr; sons, Leonard and Neal; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and sister, Connie Shapiro. Sam was a graduate of Central HS, attended Penn State University and earned Bacherlor's and Master's Degrees from Temple University; Veteran of WWII; a lifelong educator, Sam held positions as Teacher, Class Sponsor of Geo. Washington HS, Dept. Head of Bartram HS and Principal of James Martin School. He was beloved by his students and dedicated to excellance in education. Sam was an exceptionally warm and charismatic, courageous man. Donations can be made to The Scool Board of Phila or The American Diabetes Association. Funeral Services were held at GOLDSTEINS' ROSENBERG'S RAPHAEL SACKS SUBURBAN NORTH. Shiva will be held at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Leonard Rubin.
