Samuel Gratz

GRATZ SAMUEL, 82, passed away on Aug. 19, 2002. Mr. Gratz resided at 1139 Kerper St., Phila. PA. After graduating from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science in 1941, he worked nights as a registered pharmacist while creating in the early 1940's, the Northeast Philadelphia based, American Stock Exchange listed generic drug manufacturer, Lannett Company Incorporated. Mr. Gratz retired as President and Chief Executive Officer of Lannett in the early 1990's. Mr. Gratz is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Gilda Gratz; also survived by his son Stanley Gratz, daughter-in-law Sharon Gratz, son-in-law Philip Blackman; grandchildren Ian Blackman, Hope Gratz and Douglas Gratz. Mr. Gratz' beloved daughter, Vicki Blackman, predeceased him. Mr. Gratz was an active member of Oxford Circle Jewish Community Center, a member of the American Pharmaceutical Association and the Professional Circle. Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services, Wednesday 1 P.M. precisely, GOLDSTEINS' ROSENBERG'S RAPHAEL SACKS SUBURBAN NORTH, 310 Second St. Pike, Southampton. Interment Roosevelt Memorial Park. Shiva will be observed at the late residence. Contributions in his memory may be made to Oxford Circle Jewish Community Center or Deborah Hospital.
