Samuel Cohen passed away on January 22, 2023 at the age of 98. He was the beloved husband of “Butzy” Cohen for 75 years, dedicated and loving father of Marlene Balik (Barry) and Jill Bucholtz (Jeffrey), grandfather of Reuben Balik (Samantha), Paul Balik (Rebecca Crystal), and Ilana Kopania (Edward), and adoring great grandfather of Benjamin Balik and Kayla Crystal-Balik.
Sam was in the family grocery business his entire life. He served in combat in the 82nd Airborne of the United States Army throughout Europe during World War II. He reached the rank of technical sergeant as a radio operator, and he earned numerous medals and ribbons for his service. He was recognized by Honor Flight Network at the age of 90. Sam was a lifetime active member of Brith Shalom Krause Pearlstein Lodge.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at his funeral service on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 12 Noon, Roosevelt Memorial Park Mausoleum, 2701 Old Lincoln Highway, Trevose, PA. Burial immediately following in Sec. U.
