Sally (Rubin) Hurwitz, born November 30, 1954, in New Haven, Connecticut. Loving wife, mother, sister, and Grandmother. Raised in Woodbridge, Connecticut, graduating from Amity Regional High School in 1972. Sally subsequently Graduated from Case Western Reserve University in 1976, Cum Laude, with a BS Applied Social Sciences.
Sally met Mark while both were living in Maryland and married in 1980. They moved to Pennsylvania in 1991, where she and Mark raised both of their daughters; Rebecca (Philip) Lawson and Brooke (Sean) Hill. Sally predeceased her siblings, Anne Rubin, Deborah (Arnold) Lerman, and David Rubin (Terry Newman). The most recent family addition and Sally’s pride and joy was Heather, her granddaughter, to whom Sally was devoted. Sally found it deeply moving that Heather was born on Sally’s adored deceased father’s birthday and named in memory of Mark’s adored deceased father.
Sally had an active and long-standing professional career in the field of Pharmaceuticals and later Biotech, in sales, marketing, and medical affairs. After professional retirement, Sally was highly active in volunteer activities, including helping to form, lead, and manage STARS After School Program for nine years; a local non-profit that mentored and guided deserving elementary school children in Ambler, Pennsylvania.
More than anything, Sally was driven by her life goal to be remembered as the most loving and dedicated mother, wife, daughter, Grandmother, sister, cousin, friend, and community member she could be.
Sally was fiercely independent, always true to herself, and never stopped growing and actively learning. Her loves were overnight camp as a child, the beach, rivers and lochs in Scotland, thunderstorms, a brisk autumn day, travel, but most of all, her family. Sally will be dearly missed and remembered.
