Ruth Rothman

Ruth (Bell) Rothman, of The Quadrangle, Haverford, Pa., formerly of Havertown, died on April 9, 2023, age 91. Beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother. Predeceased by husband Arnold and brother Harold. Survived by son Steven Rothman (Janice Fisher) and daughters Carol Tycko (Benjamin) and Ellen Rothman; grandchildren Sonia Tycko and Josh Tycko; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends, several lifelong. A biologist and teacher, a self-taught student of art, Ruth was exuberantly excited by the cross-pollination of ideas. Her intellect was matched by her tender, compassionate heart. Relatives and friends are invited to attend services on Friday, April 14, at 10 a.m. at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Raphael-Sacks, 6410 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA, followed by interment at Har Jehuda Cemetery, 8400 Lansdowne Avenue, Upper Darby, PA. Shiva will be observed at her son’s residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Residents Assistance Fund of the Quadrangle Board, 3300 Darby Road, Haverford, PA 19041, or a charity of your choice.
