Rosine Paul, age 70, passed away Friday, May 13, 2022. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 29 years, Bill Paul, devoted mother of Thomas (Carley) and James (Jennifer Wolff). Beloved grandmother of Willow. Fond aunt of Elana Kovalev (Alex), Jarret Orenbuch, Dina Taormina, Adam Paul, Matt Paul (Juliana), Rachel Moyer and Kevin Moyer. Special sister and sister-in-law of Susan Orenbuch, Harold Orenbuch, Bob Paul (Ina) and Mindy Moyer (Ron). Daughter of the late Bernie and Esther Orenbuch.
Born in Paris, France, Rosine was a woman up for an adventure. At the age of seven, she moved with her family to Brooklyn. They spent summers at their bungalow in the Catskills, where Rosine became a camp counselor and hitchhiked with friends to Woodstock in 1969. After graduating Hunter College, she moved to Israel to live on a kibbutz for five years and teach English. Rosine returned to New York and was eventually set up on a blind date at Tavern on the Green where she met her future husband, Bill. They married at the Pierre Hotel in New York City and then moved to Philadelphia to raise their two sons Thomas and James.
Rosine’s ability to speak fluent Yiddish, French, English, and a bit of Hebrew proved to be beneficial for her and Bill’s company, American Heritage Minting. Their business took them all over the world, and Rosine reveled in exploring the restaurants, museums, and lifestyles of different countries with her family.
Rosine’s greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. She would drop anything for her loved ones and especially treasured her time with Willow; going on walks, listening to classical music, and taking her to yoga classes. She will always be remembered for her love of books, dirty martinis, and all things chocolate. Donations can be made in her loving memory to Unite for Her (https://uniteforher.org/)
