Rosanne I. Brook

Rosanne Ilean Brook, 89, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2023, in Fairfax, Virginia with her loving family by her side. Rosanne was born on December 16, 1933, to the late Robert and Theodora Burnstine. She grew up in the Olney section of Philadelphia with her brother, the late Saul Burnstine. She graduated Olney High School in 1951 in the top of her class in the commercial curriculum. She married her husband Gerald “Jerry” Brook on June 15, 1959. Rosanne and Jerry were very happily married for nearly 64 years. They lived in several homes in the Philadelphia area and throughout their marriage, Rosanne worked in various secretarial positions in the food and engineering industries. She was also a very talented natural artist and worked in oil, charcoal, and pencil. She studied art and painting for almost two decades. Her museum quality oil paintings and drawings are treasured by her children and close family members. Rosanne forgave easily, rarely complained, and always saw the best in people. She was a best friend to many, a great listener, and always had something positive and encouraging to say. She loved the beach, especially the Jersey Shore where she vacationed with family and friends throughout her life. She and Jerry were very social and met friends frequently for dinners, movies, and book clubs. Rosanne’s greatest joy was her family and is survived by her husband Jerry, her children Ilean (Michael) and Tom (Joi), her grandchildren Jennifer (Callum), Hayden, Channing, and Robert, and great grandchild Callum. Rosanne was cherished by her family and friends and will be deeply missed.
