Our beloved mother, Ronnie Barol Goldstein, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, at the age of 86. The daughter of Beatrice and Leonard Barol, she was born on March 16, 1940, in Philadelphia. She is survived by her daughter Rachel Dalinka, her son Stephen, grandchildren Burton Dalinka, Claire Dalinka, Griffin Goldstein, and Maeve Goldstein.
Ronnie grew up in Havertown, PA and attended the University of Pennsylvania for her undergraduate education and Bryn Mawr College for her master’s degree in social work. Ronnie became an individual and family therapist helping clients for over 50 years in hospitals and a private office in her home.
She married George Goldstein in 1963. They moved to Narberth in 1966 before the birth of their daughter, Rachel. She was a devoted mother to Rachel and Stephen, raising them to think for themselves and most of all to be kind and accepting of others.
Ronnie was an avid traveler, visiting many countries in Europe—many times by herself or with tour groups. She was a fan of the arts and a lover of jazz music. Following in her mother’s footsteps, she took art classes and was passionate about painting watercolors. She painted images of her dogs, south-western scenes, still lives of plants, and sights of Long Beach Island, NJ. On lazy weekends you could find her lounging in a beach chair, sunning herself while she reads.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at noon at Goldstein’s Funeral home, 6410 N Broad St., Philadelphia PA 19126. After the funeral reception the family will sit Shiva at the Oak Hill Clubhouse, 1660 Oakwood Dr., Penn Valley PA 19072. On Friday they will sit shiva at the clubhouse from 12 to 4 PM.
Contributions in her memory can be made to NAMI Philadelphia - National Alliance on Mental Illness - https://namiphilly.org/ - https://namiphilly.org/get-involved/donate/
