ROCHELLE UKNIS

Rochelle (Chelle) Uknis, 80, of Blessed Memory



Rochelle L. Uknis was born on January 13th, 1942, and passed away on January 31st,
2022, surrounded by her loving family. Chelle was pre-deceased by her parents Louis
and Betty Lertzman and her brother Murray. She is survived by her husband of more
than 62 years, her childhood sweetheart Harvey (Hesh) Uknis both of Philadelphia.
Hesh and Chelle have 3 children: Audrey Uknis (Richard Budenstein), Michele Jeana
Mergaman, and Marc (Katherine) Uknis. They also have 8 grandchildren: Matthew and
Benjamin (Haley) Budenstein, Lauren (Matthew) Spitz, Paige Mergaman (Connor
Hartzell), Amy Uknis (Adam Kozek), Isabella, Lexi and Olivia Uknis. She was so proud
that Lauren and Matthew gave her a great-granddaughter Elianna Spitz. She had a
special relationship with her grand-dogs, Barkley (Matthew) and Jazzy, Ivy and Frankie
(Marc and Kathy).



Chelle graduated from Northeast (Philadelphia) High School just having turned 17, and
devoted her life to a caring relationship with her parents/grandparents and raising her
children. Later in life, she attended Penn State University where she studied
Psychology and eventually received her Real Estate license. She went on to be a
successful agent with Fox and Lazo (now Berkshire Hathaway/Fox and Roach)
receiving many awards for her expertise in helping families find their dream homes.
She took pride in guiding her children, grandchildren, and friends with their real estate
needs as well!



Chelle, known as Nana to her grandchildren, was always there to provide wisdom,
advice or just to listen with happiness as they filled her in on what was new or discussed
their achievements. Even friends of her children and grandchildren would turn to her for
guidance and friendship, thinking of her as their own Nana. She made it known to each
of her children and grandchildren that there was nothing they couldn't achieve, providing
a firm foundation for everyone's success. She will be missed but will live forever in all
our hearts.
