Rochelle Marcia Reisman

Rochelle Marcia Reisman, known affectionately as Shelly, passed away on July 25, 2024, at the age of 83 in Newtown, PA. Born on August 12, 1940, in Philadelphia, PA, Rochelle Marcia Schuman to Sylvia and Abraham Schuman. She is predeceased by her husband of 43 years Irvin Reisman.

Shelly dedicated over 40 years to the Philadelphia School District as a devoted teacher, where her passion for education and commitment to her students' growth were evident. She held a degree from Temple University and Masters degree from Beaver College which further solidified her foundation in education. Shelly was a vibrant and dynamic individual, known for her quick wit, humor, and strong will, making a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.

She is survived by her loving family: son Jeff Reisman and daughter-in-law Carolyn, daughter Nancy Reisman Beran and son-in-law Samuel, and daughter Merri Teitelman and son-in-law Mark. Shelly was also a cherished grandmother to Jacob, Rachel, Spencer, Hannah, Seth, Amanda, and Ilyse. Her husband, Irvin Reisman preceded her in death.

The funeral service will be held at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Raphael-Sacks in Southampton, PA, on July 28, 2024, at 1:30 pm. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism https://standup.fcas.org/offers/fcas-combat-antisemitism, honoring Shelly’s commitment to advocacy and Jewish life.
