ROBERT MORRIS "BOB" born Sept. 23, 1929, passed away peacefully June 28, 2016. Bob was 86. Bob is survived by his son Marc Berman and wife Susan (nee Friedman) and daughter Ellen Cohen (nee Berman) and was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Joan Berman (nee Mustin). Bob's grandkids and great grandkids brought him much joy and happiness, Jason Tannenbaum and wife Joori Tannenbaum (nee Song), Jamie Greco (nee Berman) and husband Jeffrey Greco, Melissa Collins, Erica Berman and great grandsons Cameron and Brody Collins.
Bob grew up in Camden and attended Camden High and Temple University. Bob met Joan in Atlantic City on the boardwalk and soon after were married. Although after marriage moved to Philadelphia Bob loved Atlantic City where his father and mother Julius and Ann Berman spent summers in their homes in Ventnor and Atlantic City. It was just 5 weeks before his death that Bob made his final drive to Atlantic City for his monthly excursion to sit for three days and play the video poker machines taking a break to take a walk on the boardwalk which he loved to do any time of the year.
Most of his work life was spent at Sears Roebuck as manager of women's fashions in the St David's Store where he eventually retired from and until the time of his death kept in touch with many friends from his retail years who loved "Berm" as they called him.
Bob lived for his family grand kids and great grand kids, this was his life as witnessed in his home with family photos adorning every inch of wall space.
Graveside Services are set for Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the Roosevelt Memorial Park in Trevose PA. The family is requesting in lieu of flowers, please send donations to Holy Redeemer Hospice, 12265 Townsend Rd, Suite 400, Philadelphia PA 19154.
