Rich was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and fun uncle. A musician, computer programmer, and proud Philadelphian, he passed away after a long good-bye due to Alzheimer’s. His family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace, his love and humor forever preserved in their hearts.
Rich grew up on 77th Avenue, where he met Hannah. After graduating with the 200th class at Central High, he earned a degree in Chemical Engineering from Drexel, which set him up for a career in computer programming and medical billing – a man before his time.
From West Oak Lane to the cabin in Sumneytown, and from Lawrenceville back to Philly again, together they raised three children and later welcomed grandchildren who became his greatest joy.
A gifted guitar player and sharp-minded computer programmer, Rich moved easily between music and code, always adding his own quirky flair. He loved playing racquetball, bridge, and many made-up games as well. He had an adroitness with words and numbers that provided hours of entertainment. Pop Pop’s presence was warm, funny, and unmistakably Philly--accent included. His life was a song of love, humor, and hometown pride — a melody that will keep playing in the hearts of all who knew him.
