Richard Alexander

Richard (Dick) Alexander, 92, passed away on June 11, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Jan (née Lipitz) Alexander and loving father to Judi Cloutier (Bob), Diane DiFazio (Charlie) and Gail Mindlin (Michael). He was the devoted Pop-Pop to Alex & Catie Cloutier, Melissa Urbanski, Kevin DiFazio and Joshua Mindlin. Also, Poppy to great grandchildren, Jaclyn and Wyatt Urbanski. He was predeceased by his mother, Harriet and identical twin brother, Jay.

Dick was born on May 16, 1933 in Trenton, NJ. He graduated from Trenton High in 1951, where he was an All American on the Championship swim team. This earned him a scholarship to University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He was “Tarheel born and Tarheel bred” for the rest of his life. He completed his education at Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in 1958. In 1960, he and his brother opened Alexander Twin Pharmacy in Hamilton Township, NJ, which still carries their name. After retiring, he enjoyed volunteering in the pharmacy at St. Mary’s hospital.

Dick had an extraordinary gift for friendship and reveled in amazing people with his card trick. He’d ask everyone if they liked magic and would dazzle them every time. He was a joke teller and all around funny guy.

He and Jan were a true love story. Together since their teen years, this August, they would have celebrated their 70th anniversary. Together they they traveled the world.

Where there is great grief, there was deep love. Dick will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Chapel at Ann’s Choice, Warminster, PA at 10:30 am on Sunday, June 15, 2025. Internment to follow at Brother’s of Israel Cemetery at Samuel St. Hamilton Township, NJ (off of Cedar Lane).
