Rhoda Marks Futterweit, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, at the age of 91.
Born on September 24, 1933, Rhoda lived a life full of love, resilience, and grace. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Adolf "Addy" Futterweit, with whom she shared many cherished years until his passing on April 1, 1995. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and lasting memories.
Rhoda is survived by her two daughters, Wendy Ashby and Melanie Kenney, who brought her immense pride and joy. She shared a special bond with her daughters’ spouses, Ronald Miller and Eugene Kenney, whom she welcomed as sons. She is also survived by her sister, Priscilla Radick, who shared a lifelong bond of love and support with Rhoda.
Rhoda was a dedicated elementary school teacher for 39 years in Bristol Township PA, shaping young minds with patience and compassion. A lifelong learner, she graduated from Kean College and went on to earn her master’s degree from Temple University. She was also an avid camper, traveler, and reader, finding joy and adventure in exploring new places and ideas.
A loving and devoted grandmother, Rhoda adored her five grandchildren — Seth, Jake, Jordan, Alexandria, and Brett. They were a huge source of pride, comfort, and support to her over the years, bringing her endless happiness with their love and accomplishments. Her greatest joy in recent years came from being a great-grandmother to Katherine and Hudson, whom she adored and cherished deeply.
Rhoda will be remembered for her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to her family. Rhoda was also a cancer survivor of 41 years. Her legacy of love will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 11:30 AM at Goldsteins' Rosenberg's Funeral Directors Suburban North, 310 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966. Interment immediately following at King David Memorial Park in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.
