Raymond C. Blickle passed away suddenly, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, resilience, and deep devotion to his family. Born early as a fighter, Ray grew up in a lively household where he quickly became the family comedian, always looking to make people laugh and keeping his parents, Mary and Ray Sr., on their toes.
Though traditional schooling wasn’t his passion, Ray possessed a curious mind. As an adult, he took a genuine interest in early history, reading up on the past and occasionally delighting his family by repeating the fascinating history facts he had learned. He spent his career serving the public with the New Jersey Department of Transportation, working with pride as a truck driver, heavy snowplow operator, and ultimately retiring as a bridge operator.
Known affectionately by his family as “Monty Hall” for his legendary love of a good bargain, Ray lived by the motto, “Life is too short, and you can’t take it with you.” He made sure to enjoy every moment of the ride.
Of all the deals Ray made, his greatest joy was the family he built in New Jersey with his beloved wife, Marilyn. He was immensely proud of Marilyn’s career as a nurse, a noble path beautifully followed by their cherished daughter, Jayna. Ray’s deep love for his wife, Marilyn; his daughter and son-in-law; his siblings, Chuck and Sandra; and most importantly his treasured granddaughters, Aspen and Astrid, were the anchors of his life and brought him immense joy and pride. His infectious spirit, humor, and love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; his daughter and son-in-law, Jayna and Ryan; and his two cherished granddaughters, Aspen and Astrid. He is also survived by his brother, Charles; his sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Barry; his two nephews and nieces; as well as a large and loving extended family.
